India Medical Visa Guide by Country
What Is the India e-Medical Visa?
The India e-Medical Visa (e-MV) is an electronic visa issued by the Government of India specifically for international patients travelling to India for medical treatment. It is available to nationals of over 160 countries and is applied for entirely online through the official portal indianvisaonline.gov.in.
The e-Medical Visa is a triple-entry visa valid for 60 days from the date of issue, allowing a stay of up to 60 days per visit. This is particularly useful for patients who need follow-up treatment or multiple consultations.
One attendant (family member or caregiver) can accompany the patient on a separate e-Medical Attendant Visa, which costs the same as the patient visa. The attendant visa is linked to the patient's visa.
The visa fee varies by nationality. Bangladesh is the only country for which India waives the fee entirely — Bangladeshi nationals get the e-Medical Visa for free. For all other countries covered in our guides (Sri Lanka, UAE, UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Nigeria, Oman, Kenya), the fee is USD 25.
The official fee schedule is published at indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/feeinfo.html. Always verify the current fee on the official portal before applying, as fees may be updated.
